The engineer motioned and yelled out the window for us to keep chasing them, but it was impossible to do because I was on the sun side of the tracks while Nick and Ethan were both watching it from the shadow side. Wasnt going to have shadow cover my picture. |

NS 9715 |
Description: |
We attempted to continue the chase to catch NS 24W in a couple more locations but they were much to fast for us. We had just missed them by about 3 minutes when we crossed the tracks in Stryker and decided to call it a night after a couple more trains in Archbold. First up was NS 23K with a trio of Dash 9s. |

NS 7018 |
Description: |
NS 7018 leads NS 65N west out of Archbold. As darkness started to cover the earth, this would be the final train that I would photograph. We would still stay for 2 more trains, including NS 20K with a DC GEVO leading and NS 961, a 8 engine powermove with a CEFX trailing 5th. Edgerton was going to be the original cut off place but the boys wanted to chase the Erie down so bad again. With a total of 34 trains today, including a heritage unit, epic chase of NS 14Q, and some nice foreign power action including South Shore trains, Day 1 definitely is a good start to the 2 day trip! Now off to Fostoria, OH where we will start off the day tomorrow and work CSX back home! |
