Goin' in the hole for three
Title:  Goin' in the hole for three
Description:  Eastbound NS train 111 is a daily freight on the road's St Louis sub; but it's going to take longer than normal today. Flooding and closure of the much busier Hannibal line has forced a lot of that route's traffic onto the St Louis Sub to get to Moberly and Kansas City. On a "normal" day 111 might meet one or two westbounds in the two usual sidings between Moberly and the big yard at Wentzville. Today, roughly 40 miles from Moberly, it will go in the 8690 foot siding at Benton City to meet three, and then make it only about 30 miles further, to High Hill, for another pair and then it will see two more at Wentzville, which is still 46 miles from 'home' in St Louis.

Description:  Late afternoon in Caldwell County MO; parked at Polo MO hoping for a westbound, either on ICE or UP. You end up with an eastbound on the ICE, almost axial lighting and no real options for a good shot. Three units; the second one (StLH 5615) apparantly with cooling issues on an 82deg day as the doors are open on both sides.

Herzog SW1200 10
Title:  Herzog SW1200 10
Description:  Herzog SW1200 no.10 at the facility located along the otherwise abandoned BN (CB&Q, H&StJ) line east of Saint Joseph. It was built, with dynamic brakes, as Pacific Power & Light 10 for their Glenrock WY plant. Although also listed in RRPA.net as HZGX 174, that doesn't appear to be likely. (see also)
