Early photo of the Canadian National 4-8-2 Mountain type steam locomotive built by the Canadian Locomotive Company in June of 1923. A note on the back of the photo states - "Rare photo - as built". CN #6002 (serial #1698) served well for nearly 37 years before being scrapped in April of 1960. Specs - 73" drivers, 210 spi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine weight of 354,300 lb, tractive effort of 49,589 lb. Dick George photo

Bjuilt by the Canadian Locomotive Company in November of 1924 as the last U-1-b class loco, CN 6036 (serial #1769) plied the rails for nearly 34 years before being nudged off the orster due to diesels and sent to the scrapper's torch in July of 1958. Description:
Caught on a cold wintry morning by an unknotn photographer, Canadian National 4-8-2 Mountain type #6024 stands in the Toronto yard with its one baggage car and two passenger cars - a small consist for such a powerful locomotive!. The loco was built by the Canadian Locomotive Company in July of 1924 (serial #1752) and served for nearly 36 years before meeting up with the scrapper's torch in February of 1960., just one year after this photo was taken. Specs - 73" drivers, 210 spi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine weight of 355,570 lb, tractive effort of 49,589 lb.
