Album Info:The Evansville Western Railway, Inc. ( EVWR ) began operations on January 1st 2006 as a full service railroad over 124.5 miles of rail between Evansville, In. & Okawville, Illinois including a branch line at Mt. Vernon, In. The EVWR is headquartered in Mt. Vernon, In. The EVWR is strategically located in the heart of the nations highway & inland waterway system with a rail-barge transfer facility on the Ohio River at the Port of Mt. Vernon, In. The railroad connects with the UP at Mt. Vernon, Illinois, with the BNSF at Woodlawn, Illinois & with the CSXT at Howell Yard in Evansville, In. It serves over 30 on line customers & handles a variety of commodities including coal, grain & food products, chemicals & fertilizer, lumber & other building materials. The EVWR is a privately held corporation & subsidary of P&L Transportation, Inc. a Delaware Corporation.
