This De 586 (former De 4/4) has a long histoty: Built 1932-34 as a motor coach with power on one bogie only, then designated BDe 2/4 (B for pax, D for luggage). During 1980/81 out of two BDe 2/4 the 586 was rebuilt into a De 4/4, now without a pax department but with power an all 4 axles (makes it a 4/4). It still wears the livery of the Regionalverkehr Mittelland (RM), now part of BLS group. It was still in use a few years ago, now it became a historic engine of a privat group. |
