Album Info:One of the monsters on display at the Fort Wayne RR Historical Society Open House on Oct 28-30th this year was this monstrous Norfolk & Western 200 ton crane, #540019. According to the info poster present (typo error on the crane number however), the crane had originally been built for the Virginian Rwy in 1922 by the Industrial Works in Bay City, MI. Eventually it was merged into the N&W family and converted from steam power to diesel in 1959. It last saw service in 1986. It is a monster to see up close!
