Album Info:NYC 2500 is located at the Lake Shore Railway Museum in North East, PA. Per museum information, NYC 2500 was built by Erie General Electric in 1963. It is one of two known ex-NYC U25b's in existence. The locomotive was last used by Conrail in 1982 and was acquired by the Lake Shore Railway Historical Society in 1983. NYC 2500 is powered by a 16-cylinder GE FDL Diesel unit that produces 2,500 HP (1,860 KW). The 132-ton diesel/electric unit has a "B-B" wheel configuration.
