PRR 4-4-4-4 #5542 - Pennsylvania RR |
Description: |
J.R. Quinn caught this massive duplex drive PRR 4-4-4-4 #5542 built by Baldwin in July of 1946. Most of these T-1 duplex drives were retired by 1949. Sadly, this one in particular was sold for scrap in 1956. Specs - serial #72785, T-1 class, 80" drivers, impressive 300 psi boiler pressure, 19.5x26" cylinders, engine weight of 502,200 lb, tractive effort of 64,653 lb. J.R.
