Description:  Duplexes. Here is a duplicate 35mm B&W slide showing Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5542, a T-1 (4-4-4-4) "Duplex" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during July of 1946 and retired in January of 1956 after just ten years of service. The photographer's name, the date, and the location are not recorded. (Gift from Brad Mann.)

Title:  PRR 4-4-4-4 #5542 - Pennsylvania RR
Description:  J.R. Quinn caught this massive duplex drive PRR 4-4-4-4 #5542 built by Baldwin in July of 1946. Most of these T-1 duplex drives were retired by 1949. Sadly, this one in particular was sold for scrap in 1956. Specs - serial #72785, T-1 class, 80" drivers, impressive 300 psi boiler pressure, 19.5x26" cylinders, engine weight of 502,200 lb, tractive effort of 64,653 lb. J.R.
