Description:  Here is the tenth of 32 color prints of calendar art works that were commissioned by the Pennsylvania Railroad from 1925 through 1958. Shown here is Grif Teller's painting entitled "Horseshoe Curve." It was published originally in 1935. Depicted here is PRR engine #5419, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during February of 1927 and retired in March of 1949 after 22 years of faithful service. Visible at the right is the Kittanning Point Passenger Station.

Description:  Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken near Timonium, Maryland, on 9 June 1938. Shown here are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5436 and #5419. Both are K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacifics" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works. #5436 was constructed in March of 1927 and retired in April of 1948, while #5419 was built in February of 1927 and retired in March of 1949. On #5436, note the modified cylinders and lack of valve gear. Gary Mittner Collection.
