Description:
Long and powerful are two descriptive words that fit Canadian National 4-8-2 Mountain type steam locomotive #6005. Built by the Canadian Locomotive Company in July of 1924 (serial #1701), the loco served magnificiently until being scrapped in August of 1955 when diesels came on the roster. Specs - 73" drivers, 210 spi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine weight of 354,300 lb, tractive effort of 49,589 lb.. Al Paterson photo
