Description:
This massive 2-10-2 Santa Fe type steam locomotive was built by the Lima Locomotive Company in June of 1926 originally as B&O #6185. Much later in 1956 it was renumbered B&O 526. The loco lasted unti being retired and scrapped in 1959 after nearly 33 years of service. This may have been the very last photo taken of it as it sat in the dead/scrap line at the Willard Yard.Specs - S-1a class, 64" drivers, 220 psi boiler pressure, 30x32" cylinders, engine wt of 436,510 lb, impressive tractive effort of 84,300 lb.
