BM 0-8-0 #612 - Boston & Maine |
Description: |
Badly deteriorating orginal photo of Boston & Maine 0-8-0 yard switcher built by Alco-Schenectady in 1922. The actual photo may very well disappear in the next few years so I found it compelling to share it now. Specs (USRA standards) - H-2-a class, 52" drivers, 175 psi boiler pressure, 25x28" cylinders, engine weight of 221,000 lb. All 22 in the class was retired by July of 1957. No photographer was listed for the photo. |

BM 0-8-0 #620 - Boston & Maine |
Description: |
This beefy 0-8-0 has the look of a road 2-8-2 Mikado but was just a heavy duty yard switcher. Built by Alco-Schenectady in September of 1922, the switcher served well for nearly 31 years before being retired and scrapped in November of 1953. No locaiton, date or photographer was listed for the photo so approximates were used. |
