NP 4-6-2 #2142 - Northern Pacific
Description:
Caught in the late afternoon sun, this 1907 Alco-Scenectady buiilt 4-6-2 Pacific gleams brightly. Unfortunately, a few months from this photo date, this loco will be scrapped in the South Tacoma Shops on December 1, 1947. Specs -serial #42496, Q-1 class, 69" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 22x26" cylinders, engine weight of 223,000 lb, tractive effort of 31,004 lb. No photographer listed for the photo.

NP 4-6-2 #2261 - Northern Pacific
Description:
Good looking Alco-Schenectady 4-6-2 Pacific type built for the Northern Pacific in 1923 as a class Q-6 member (serial #64343). According to www.steamlocomotives.com webiste, this loco was converted to an oil burner. Doesn't appear to have the typical tender for such though. Eventuall it was scrapped at the South Tacoma, WA, shops at an unidentified date later in the 1950's. No photographer listed for this photo.
