SAL #1232 CHIMES TOWER
Title:  SAL #1232 CHIMES TOWER
Description:  SAL Pullman Plan #4090 8 section-1 drawing room-3 double bedroom (8S-1DR-3DB) sleeper #1232 CHIMES TOWER, rebuilt in September 1939 from the Plan #3584 10 section-2 drawing room (10S-2DR) sleeper POINT BUCHON, which was built in June 1925 in Lot #4846 for the general service pool. The CHIMES TOWER was sold to the Seaboard at the 12/31/1948 divestiture, and it was leased to Pullman for operation. It was repainted to Two-Tone Gray in July 1949. It was withheld from lease in March 1964 and was subsequently scrapped. 2 TOWER-series cars from Lot #4846 are known to be extant: BRESLIN TOWER (ex-POINT BANK) is owned by the RY Museum of New England, and the CANONBURY TOWER (ex-POINT BROWN) is owned by Boulder Scientific in Colorado. Scanned with an Epson V550 from an original Kodachrome 35mm slide.
