CB&Q XM-33C 24400
Title:  CB&Q XM-33C 24400
Description:  CB&Q XM-33C 24400 at Cicero, Illinois on an unknown day in April 1981, photo by Chuck Zeiler. According to the book, CB&Q Color Guide to Freight and Passenger Equipment, by Michael J. Spoor, the CB&Q's shops at Havelock Nebraska turned out 350 XM-32B class boxcars in 1956 numbered 24000-24349. This car is above that number series but appears to be of similiar construction, so I assumed it to be the next build of the same design, logically becoming class XM-33C. I have no documentation to back up my assumption. It is stenclled: Hide Loading Only. The January 1969 Official Railway Equipment Register lists 610 cars in the 24010-24649 number series, classed as XM, and AAR Car Type Code B201. The CB&Q car numbers 24000-24649 became BN 215950-216399.
