| Amtrak train 450 sits on the Springfield Running Track after being rerailed, with MEC 351 looking on in the background. 450 had derailed while crossing the diamonds on CSX's Boston Line, just east of Springfield Union Station. MEC 351 was a replacement locomotive for MEC 353, which, the previous Wednesday, blew a traction motor on Pan Am train PL-1 in Enfield, CT. on Amtrak's Springfield Line. That train was rescued be a CSOR local and sat in CSOR's Hartford Yard until MEC 351 brought the train to Plainville. |
