At downtown Baton Rouge, the ICG/IC/CN runs right on top of the Mississippi River levee. The river is normally a long way from the railroad; but during this unusually high river stage the water was literally lapping at the ends of the ties, and some local folk have come out to take in this unusual view. The tall building on the right is the Louisiana State Capitol. |
