Having just worked the NS interchange track at East Penn Jct., RJC 1831 trails sister 1713 as they move northward on ex-LV trackage back to the shop. A very interesting history here: RJCR 1831 was built for the Atlantic Coast Line in March of 1951 as GP7 #147; renumbered #735 under the SCL reign, and rebuilt as a GP16 & renumbered 4785, which she held thru the SBD years. She went to CSX as #1831, where she was retired and purchased by RJ Corman to work their eastern Pa. line, where she looks quite beautiful for 60 years of age. |
