| Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad E8 9949A westbound a little east of Naperville, Illinois on April 27, 1965, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Golf anyone? About two to three miles behind this location was the station at Lisle, and there was about ten miles to the next station at Npaerville. So this was generally a location where the hogger could haul back on the throttle and see what the locomotive could do. Just after Naperville was another ten miles or so to Aurora where the same test was possible sometimes at three digit speed. |
