| For years before UP merged CNW, they pooled power, dating back to streamliner days. In the modern era, the pool was on freights, most often pig trains. Sometimes UP would commandeer a unit for something else. Im not sure if thats what happened here, or this was a bad order unit that got set out-GP50s were high priority power in those days. Either way, this one looks lost and forlorn on a rainy siding in Central City. |
