Broad Street Subway car 1 was the first car built for that system by Brill in 1927. After it was retired around 1985, it was repainted in its original color scheme of dark green and cream with a red roof. Operated on several fan trips in the late 1980's and early 1990's, it is now in dead storage at Fern Rock Yard. SEPTA subway car 1025 was one of the Art Deco cars built in 1936 by Brill for the Philadelphia-Delaware Bridge line. Some of the most distinctive cars ever built, these cars operated over the Ben Franklin Bridge between Philadelphia and Camden. In 1968 car 1025 was transferred to the Broad Street Subway, where it operated until put in fan trip service in the 1980's. It is now in dead storage at Fern Rock Yard |
