This locomotive was stenciled; IN MEMORY OF M. H. CRANDALL (below the side cab window). Assistant Superintendent of Motive Power, M. H. Crandall, designed the homemade cabs for the former Union Pacific B-units as seen here. Apparently the cabs were uncomfortable, but I have no first hand knowledge. |
