Built by GE in 1919 as the first of 5 bi-polar electric locomotives for the Milwaukee Road's western division, it originally carried the number 10250 but was renumbered in 1939. Later the Milwaukee Road shops tried rebuilding the bi-polars but it was not a successful effort. All but one (E-2) were scrapped in 1962. E.J. Roberts photo credit. |
