Tipton. Here is an original photo that I took in Tipton, Pennsylvania, on 21 July 1963. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9862, #7231, and #7262. All were built by GM-EMD. #9862 is an EFP-15 built in July of 1952 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. #7231 and #7262 are EFS-17M's built in 1959 and rated at 1,750 horsepower each; #7231 was constructed in October, while #7262 was built in November. They're passing over the Crawford Avenue grade crossing with a mixed-cargo freight train on its way from Altoona to Enola. |
