Tom Beckett General Seeing an NS unit LHF is no big deal-NW and Southern ran them that way as a matter of practice prior to their 1982 merger, and NS ran trains that way into the 1990's-even C39's and C40's on coal trains. Their power was set up for it, which, aside from the poor visibility, made the engineer's life a little more tolerable while running. The SD 60's, I'm betting, are not set up to run LHF, so the engineer on the NYSW power probably had back strain at the end of the day. 4/16/2018 4:25:27 AM
