This was a view looking east along the Illinois Central Gulf (former Mississippi Central) from Mississippi Highway 43 in Silver Creek. The switch engine on the right was Columbia & Silver Creek (CLSL) SW600 number 9, one of only 15 units of that model. It was built as McClouth Steel No. 9 for use at Trenton, Michigan. The CLSL operated over 29 miles of former ICG (Gulf & Ship Island) track between Columbia and Silver Creek. |
