| Q502 (Radnor, TN - Chicago, IL Clearing Yard) rounds the curve into downtown Earlington. Earlington was L & N's major base in the Western Kentucky coal fields until the early 1960's when Atkinson Yard was built in nearby Madisonville. The yard and shops at Earlington were then closed and there is no evidence today of what used to be a major railroad operation. |
