| SBB checks electrification of the cargo diesel switcher locomotive Class Am 843. The locomotive is to be equipped on the one hand with a pantograph for driving on electrified routes and with a battery for non-electrified routes. After successful confirmation of the feasibility, a prototype will be created in a pilot conversion in 2021. In the course of 2022, the start of the series conversion of further locomotives is planned. |
