PRR 9551, EF-15A, 1958
Portraits 1. Here is a diesel locomotive portrait via Bert Pennypacker that was taken in Enola, Pennsylvania, on 1 January 1958. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9551 and two more "EF" Class units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9551 is an EH-15 constructed in December of 1948, rebuilt later as an EF-15A, and retired in September of 1965 after just 17 years of revenue service. (#3 of 20)
