Portraits 4. Here is a steam locomotive portrait via F.R. Kern. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5524, a T-1 (4-4-4-4) "Duplex" built in Juniata during June of 1946 and retired in December of 1953 after just seven years of revenue service. It's the very last locomotive ~ of any type ~ produced in Altoona. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. (#40 of 40) |
