"Class 'D' Locomotives," Front Cover, 1981         
Here is the front cover of a 78-page booklet published by Harry P. Albrecht entitled "Those Amazing Class 'D' Locomotives." It was issued originally in June of 1981. Cover Caption: "Built in the Juniata Shops in 1896, D-16a No. 1395 rolling Train No. 29 the 'Pennsylvania Special' near Morrisville, Pa., at 85 MPH on June 16, 1902." Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1395, a D-16A (4-4-0) "American" built in Juniata during May of 1898, rebuilt as a D-16 in October of 1911, and retired in March of 1923 after 25 years of faithful service.
