This is quite a boomer loco having bounced from one railroad roster to another. Originally built as MILW FP7A #96A by EMD in January of 1951, it was sold to NRE at Dixmoor, IL around 1989. From roughly 1991 to 1999, it was Wisconsin & Calumet #96a seen here. After that, it moved over to the Wisconsin & Southern as their WSOR #71A with a new paint scheme. Finally sometime after 2005, it was sold to Escanaba and Lake Superior as ELS #600. An unknown photographer took this color slide. |
