My buddy AJ Evans and I had been planning to do a day trip over the summer, and finally we were able to squeeze some time in to do so today. One of his bucket list items was Marion, IN to get all the rare signals around town, including the very rare PL Pedestal Signal, which is 1 of 3 left operating in freight service. In order to get the most out of Mario, you have to start out early, which is what we did. After he arrived at my house, we took off south to Marion. NS had already had a train lined from the north to come back south and east onto the Redkey Secondary by the time we took off. We werent very sure if we would be able to accomplish getting there in time, but surprisingly we were able to get in to town before the train started making their way back toward Goodman. What shocked us even more was that the high hood was on this train, and would be leading the charge back into the yard. The high hood hardly ever sees time outside of Goodman Yard, so we were pretty excited to start the day with it. We got set up just in time on the west side of the diamond by GF Designs and grabbed our first shots there. Unfortunately my settings were a little wonky and things didnt come out as planned, but they didnt come out bad either. |
