| Built by EMD in February of 1973, Boston & Maine GP38-2 #200 soon stepped into the Bicentennical red, white & blue paint scheme for the Boston & Maine. It continued in service until the late 1980's when it was sold to Kansas City Southern, painted gray and relabeled KCS GP38-2 #4012. The battleship grey scheme which first appeared in 1988 was a step-up from the ghostly white livery previously worn by KCS locomotives and equipmen. Later it would be renujmbered KCS 2010 in early 2000's. It is still on the active KCS roster. This is a James C. Herold slide |
