According to the Rev. Harold Keekley's book "ROARING U50s," all of the U50s and U50Cs were disposed of. If not scrapped by Erman Bros, they were used by the UP as "trade in " units to GE (I suspect used as credits on the UP #2400/2500 series C30-7s built in 1978-1980).

Well at least I have my Model! I think UP didn't want to save a U50C because they were a fabulous failure. At least a Centenial and Big Boy was something they could be proud of.

I was hoping the railroad museum at Union, IL would have saved one. Nope. But they did have one of the UP 8500 HP "Big Blow" gas turbine engines and tender(s). 8500HP!
