Title:  "An American Beauty," Page 22, 1954
Description:  Here is page one of a five-page cover article by Frederick Westing entitled "An American Beauty." It was published originally in the August 1954 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 22. Photo Caption: "It's a sight to warm the heart of a turn-of-the-century railroader as D-16D No. 5069 wheels a smart string of varnish down a multiple-track right of way, her gait guarded by semaphores on signal bridges." Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5069 is a D-16D (4-4-0) "American" built in Juniata as D-16D number "5069" during 1900, renumbered "5569" in 1910, and rebuilt as a D-16B in April of 1911.
