PRR 5437, K-4S, c. 1947
Title:  PRR 5437, K-4S, c. 1947
Description:  Coal Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide that was taken in Camden, New Jersey. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5437, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during March of 1927 and retired in January of 1950 after 23 years of faithful service. Looks to me like the trainmen are comparing timepieces in advance of yet another sprint to Atlantic City. The photographer's name and the date are not recorded.
