Title:  PRR 9501, EF-15, c. 1947

Here is diesel locomotive portrait featuring Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9501, an EF-15 built by GM-EMD in July of 1947, rated at 1,500 horsepower, and retired in November of 1962 after just 15 years of revenue service. Perhaps this is a test run of the PRR's first F-3A road diesel? Note the soon-to-be-extinct steam locomotive at the far left. The names of the photographer and the five gentlemen pictured here, as well as the date and the location, are not recorded. (#1 of 20)
