Spic and Span
Title:  Spic and Span
Description:  As has been plainly evident since the first orders of rebuilds started hitting the rails in 2018, they accumulate dust and oil streaks quickly, so there's a very limited window of opportunity to get them looking like this! This may well be only the second revenue trip for 8209 and 8208, the first being the previous day's 288. Notice the dust/mud already apparent on the plow/undercarriage, although nothing above the sill stripe...yet. It also appears they didn't bother to paint the exhaust vents on this order, since it was getting cooked off within weeks.

Fresh From Fort Worth (or Erie)
Title:  Fresh From Fort Worth (or Erie)
Description:  8208/8209 are so new that no info is available on them online yet, such as what AC4400CWs they were rebuilt from or which GE/Wabtec plant they were done at.

Go Big Red
Title:  Go Big Red
Description:  Title refers to a cheer said by fans of UW-Madison's Badgers, but could also refer to traveling by a big, bright red train such as CP 8209 (and its sequential sister 8208) on the point of westbound manifest No. 287, here changing crews at the Portage yard office.

Cherry on Top
Title:  Cherry on Top
Description:  How many puns can I come up with to describe just how RED these locomotives are when fresh-from-the-factory clean? Depends on how many I can catch before they inevitably start to get dirty, I guess...

287 On The Pull
Title:  287 On The Pull
Description:  Following the crew change, they started rolling west on the main. Thinking they were blasting off, I hightailed it to a crossing west of town but waited over half an hour. They must have shoved in at Three Light to work the yard. The scanner was unusually quiet, I never heard them tone up the Wisconsin Dispatcher on 161.520 for signal indication. Also, normally if a westbound is going to work the yard it will either take the siding or cross over at the junction and go in from the east end.
