| Description: |
Built by Lima in September of 1937 (serial #7748, class N), PM 2-8-4 Berkshire #1212 served the Pere Marquette Railway and then slid over to the C&O roster as CO 2696 in 1947. It lasted until being scrapped in April of 1953. Final specs - 70" drivers (upgraded from 69" in 1946), impressive 245 psi boiler pressure, 26x34" cylinders, engine weight of 445,500 lb, tractive effort of 69,350 lb, with booster adding 14,400 lb. No photographer or exact day in 1937 was given for the photo. |
