As by regulation, steam engines (here EUROVAPOR BR50) has to be led by electric engines on Gotthard route for safety reasons as not to disrupt the schedule of regulary passenger and freight trains. The picture shows the arrival of the special train up the 2.6% ramp to Goeschenen station. The BR50 was delivered with this special train on loan to Museo Ferroviario del Verbano in Luino / Italy. |
